When members of global independent healthcare communication agencies network, Indigenus, meet in Munich this September, among discussion points will be the creation of a global service delivery model based in India. Clients are already warming up to the idea of the ‘Indigenus Global Services Centre' (IGSE) based in India, according to Mumbai-based Sorento Healthcare Communications, the only agency in the network from Asia.

The network will discuss how it can evolve the most efficient pricing and knowledge management model for a global delivery system through member agencies in different markets. The hub will be headquartered in India.

Speaking to Business Line , Ms Susan Josi, Co-founder, Sorento, said, “We have been in discussions, and expect plans should be in place by September or October. By the first quarter of 2012, we expect the Indigenus Global Services Centre model to be fully functional.”

Global clients

According to her, global clients are reviewing their roster on how they can leverage Indigenus' presence in India, among other markets.

This aligns with global pharmaceutical companies using India as a hub for creating communication and marketing strategies for other markets, especially in areas like branded generics, explains Ms Josi.

“We have a few clients interested in sourcing work from India already. As part of Indigenus, we are also participating in global pitches, and have access to the best in class work in more evolved markets for healthcare communication. The task is to create a 24x7 off shore hub here, and also work on areas like medical content management together with network agencies,” added Ms Josi.

Origin

Sorento, formed in 2004, had its origins in Sohum Communications (1994). It became part of the Indigenus network earlier this year.

It was in the news recently for winning an award at the Cannes International Advertising Festival.

It has over 80 people at its Mumbai office, handling client work in the Indian market, and now through Indigenus in New York and the European Union.
