Siemens has set up a financial services arm (non-banking financial company) in India called Siemens Financial Services Pvt Ltd (SFSPL).

Siemens said SFSPL has filed an application for the certificate of registration with the Reserve Bank of India to start the business of an NBFC.

SFSPL intends to focus on the asset financing business by offering loans, leasing solutions and hire purchase to Siemens customers, particularly to those in the healthcare, industry and energy sectors.

The Siemens Financial Services (SFS) division is a global provider of financial solutions in the business-to-business customers. With over 2,000 employees and an international network of financial companies, SFS supports Siemens and non-affiliated companies, focusing on the sectors energy, industry and healthcare.

SFS finances infrastructure, equipment and working capital and act as a competent manager of financial risks within Siemens.

Mr Sunil Kapoor has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company, which will be based in Mumbai.
