The programme, titled ‘Executive Diploma in General Management & Health Care (ExD-GMH),' will begin in March 2012, said a press statement from XLRI.

The course has been designed and developed jointly by XLRI faculties as well as senior representatives from Apollo Group to provide competency-based education to promote health care management. Graduates from any discipline with minimum three years of experience are eligible to apply for admission.

“Under this programme, 28 courses will be taught in one year, divided into four terms. During the course, students will have to go through a compulsory one-month internship in healthcare industry,” said Fr. E. Abraham, S.J. (Director).

According to a CII report, employment in healthcare is expected to increase by about 2.5 million by 2012.
