In all, 91 per cent of the offer at Sale No: 21 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold with the average price crashing to₹79 a kg – the lowest since December 8, 2017. Homedale Estate’s Red Dust tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped not only the Dust tea auctions but the entire CTC market when GLT Enterprises bought it for ₹222 a kg. Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust grade, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed at ₹201. In the CTC Leaf tea auctions, Homedale Estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹200 a kg. In the orthodox tea market, Chamraj topped at ₹286 a kg followed by Kodanad at ₹236 and Robroy Estate ₹204.
