Isolated thunder squalls have been forecast over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa and West Bengal and Sikkim until tomorrow, a weather warning from India Meteorological Department (IMD) said this (Thursday) morning.

Meteorological configurations over the country have more or less remained static overnight on Thursday even as a fresh western disturbance is being awaited.

An IMD outlook until Sunday said that isolated rain or snowfall would occur over western Himalayan region until Friday and increase thereafter.

Scattered rain or thundershowers would occur over Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, the Northeastern States, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa.

It would be isolated over east Uttar Pradesh until Friday and scale up over the Northeastern States thereafter.

Scattered rain or thundershowers would occur over Kerala and Karnataka while it would be isolated over the rest of south peninsular India, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Isolated dust storms or thundershowers would occur over the plains of northwest India.

An extended outlook valid until Tuesday said that scattered rain or thundershowers would occur over the Northeastern States.

Scattered rain or thundershowers would occur over south Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, south Orissa and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
