Turmeric and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely influenced by weak local and export demand at existing higher levels, amid fresh arrivals.
Turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 18,000-20,000 a quintal.
Jeera prices also traded lower at Rs 13,300-13,500 and Rs 14,700-15,200 against previous closing of Rs 13,400-13,600 and Rs 14,800-15,300 a quintal, respectively.
Market analysts said reduced offtake by stockists and exporters at existing higher prices, pulled down the turmeric and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today’s quotations (per quintal): Ajwain 12,500-19,000, black pepper common 23,200-23,300 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,100-1,110 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,200-1,350.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,300-1,350, cardamom (colour robin) 1,370-1,380, cardamom bold 1,390-1,400, cardamom extra (bold) 1,490-1,500 and cloves (kg) 340-400.
