Spot turmeric prices decreased on Thursday at Erode markets owing to absence of upcountry demand.The finger turmeric increased by ₹400 a quintal in Regulated Market and the root variety was up ₹600 .
At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard, the finger variety turmeric was sold at ₹4,577-7,310 a quintal; the root variety ₹4,444-6,710. Of the arrival of 1,631 bags, 680 were sold.
At the Regulated Market Committee, the finger turmeric traded at ₹6,409-7,364; the root variety ₹6,214-7,019. Of the arrival of 434 bags, 407 were traded.
At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, the finger turmeric went for ₹6,129-7,291; the root variety ₹5,891-6,927. All the 1,291 bags found takers.
