Sugar firm Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd today reported standalone net loss of Rs 14.42 crore for the quarter ended September.
The company had posted net loss of Rs 63.9 crore in the July—September period of last fiscal, 2014—15.
Its total income fell to Rs 531.17 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 686.56 crore in the year—ago period.
Balrampur Chini has 11 sugar factories in Uttar Pradesh with aggregate crushing capacity of 79,000 tonnes per day.
In May, the company had said that it was planning to invest Rs 200 crore in its three units to enhance the production capacity of ethanol.
Shares of the company today closed at Rs 63.25 apiece, down 0.16 per cent, on the BSE.
