Spot pepper market on Thursday continued to stay steady on matching demand and supply.
Good volume was traded from Wayanad and Kottayam districts. . Trade sources told BusinessLine that 120 tonnes of pepper were traded. Domestic buying continued stay very thin . Wayanad was traded at ₹635 a kg while semi-processed material was at ₹630, they said. High range went for ₹640. September futures on the IPSTA platform increased by ₹499 a quintal to ₹67,005. Spot prices also stayed unchanged at ₹62,000 (ungarbled) and ₹65,000 (garbled). Export prices were at $10,575 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,825 for the US.
