Sugar prices witnessed a firm trend tracking extended gains in futures amid firm mill tenders. On the BSMA, spot rates were higher by ₹10-15 a quintal while naka rates were steady. Mill tender prices were up ₹10-15. Arrivals and local dispatches remained at par. Arrivals to the Vashi market were 61-62 truck loads and local dispatches were also at the same level. Inventory at Vashi remained stable at 110-115 truck loads.
On Monday evening, about 14-15 mills offered tenders and sold about 55,000-58,000 bags at ₹2,540-2,650 (2,540-2,640) for S-grade and ₹2,630-2,730 (2,630-2,720) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,662-2,782 and M-grade ₹2,766-2,922. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,600-2,700 and M-grade ₹2,700-2,800.
