Tata Chemicals has reported an 8 per cent increase in June quarter consolidated net profit at ₹262 crore as compared with ₹242 crore in the comparable quarter in the previous year.

Revenue was up 10 per cent at ₹2,769 crore (₹2,527 crore). Consolidated net debt of the company was down to ₹1,506 crore against from ₹1,860 crore logged in March.

Though the US operations showed better production and realisation, the performance would have been better if not for the the planned outage during the quarter, said the company. The UK operations were back on track after some operational disturbance earlier this year while Magadi operations experienced improved sales realisations but the performance was impacted by heavy rains, it added.

The company expects its subsidiary Rallis India’s sales volumes to benefit from a normal monsoon in most parts of the country.

R Mukundan, Managing Director, Tata Chemicals said the consumer business reported a 33 per cent growth on the back of higher volumes from Tata Salt. It introduced a range of all-natural chutneys.
