The price of turmeric futures rose on Tuesday. Local markets saw almost stable rates, but the price of futures increased by ₹100 a quintal . This was due to a rumour that the the crop raised in many places was affected by floods, said Krishnamurthy, a trader. He said that at present there was no demand from North India as many traders there possess a good quantity of turmeric. Four-thousand bags of turmeric arrived for sale, and traders purchased 65 per cent.
