The Bhartiya Kisan Sabha (BKS), a Left farmers' union, along with farm activists and economists will hold a meeting at Wani in Yavatmal district on Thursday to work out a strategy on future agitation.
More than three million dryland cotton farmers have already lost crop over two million hectares, said Mr Kishore Tiwari of Cotton Farmers' advocacy group, Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti, which is supporting the conclave.
Cotton is the biggest cash crop grown in Vidarbha region and in some parts of Marathwada and Khandesh. The price the crop gets decides the fate of three million families in the State which has the largest area under cotton crop in the country.
