A special court for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has permitted the Income-Tax department to access documents pertaining to the Vanpic project.
After hearing a plea from the I-T Department in the illegal assets case of YSR Congress party chief Jaganmohan Reddy here on Wednesday, the court also allowed it to access chargesheets and other documentary evidence submitted by the investigating agency so far.
The I-T department is now probing the investments made by Matrix Labs founder and one of the promoters of Vanpic project in 2008 Nimmagadda Prasad in Jagathi Publications owned by Jaganmohan Reddy.
Prasad was earlier arrested by the CBI and is presently under judicial remand.
The I-T department is also working on calculating the income-tax liability of Jagathi publications. The process would be completed in next 45, days the court was informed.
The Vadarevu Sea Port in Prakasam district and Nizampatnam Sea Port in Guntur district and port-based industrial corridor are part of Vanpic.
