Calcutta School of Economics (CSE), set up by the parent body of Cambridge School, has entered into a tie-up with the University of London in order to offer undergraduate courses in economics, finance and management.

CSE would offer courses on Economics, Management, Business and Accounting and Finance to begin with and the academic direction for these degrees will be provided by the London School of Economics, said Mr Sarojesh C. Mukherjee, Director, CSE.

“The academic and administrative staff at London School of Economics will develop syllabuses for these courses, write subject guides, develop online learning opportunities and materials and prepare and mark examinations,” Mr Mukherjee, said at a press conference to announce the tie-up here on Tuesday.

The tie-up will enable students to obtain quality education at a cheaper price, he added. “These courses are being delivered in Calcutta at a fraction of the cost of an in-campus degree in London, and at less than 50 per cent of tuition fees at institutes offering the same degrees elsewhere in the country,” he said.

The course fee will be about Rs 5 lakh for the three-year degree course.
