New Delhi, Apr 5 Hiring activities improved in most of the sectors in the first three months of 2011, says leading job portal Naukri.com.
“The first quarter of the 2011 witnessed a healthy hiring sentiment as the Naukri job speak index for March 2011 is at 1,085 as compared to 1,050 in February 2011...,” Naukri.com said in a statement on Tuesday.
Moreover, the job index in March this year is the highest ever since its inception in July 2008. Last month, hiring trends were most bullish in the IT and auto sectors. Telecom and banking segments also saw improving recruitment activities.
“The hiring activity during the first few months of 2011 has been more widespread than in the past couple of years, as all key industry sectors have started rebuilding their staff strength and gearing up for an optimistic FY 2011—12,” Info Edge India’s CEO and MD Mr Hitesh Oberoi said. Pune, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata and Bangalore were among the cities that witnessed better hiring trends in March.
