West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd posted 13 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 78 crore for the half year ended March 31, 2012, as compared with Rs 90 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Net sales dropped by about 11 per cent to Rs 352 crore.
The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission is yet to issue tariff order for the 2011-12.
The present net sales figures have been billed and accounted for on the basis of the transmission charges approved by the Commission for 2010-11.
The net sales and the corresponding profit are, therefore, likely to change on receipt of the tariff order for 2011-12, the company said in its notes to accounts.
