Pratibha Warna, the oil tanker carrying high speed diesel, has been berthed at the Chennai port.
It was brought by Indian Oil Corporation on an emergency case to ease the fuel shortage in Chennai.
The ship is carrying 19,162 tonnes of HSD, with nearly 4,500 tonnes discharged yesterday night. The balance quantity is likely to be discharged by the end of the day or tomorrow morning.
One more ship is at outer anchorage and expected to be berthed once Pratibha Warna moves out of the port, said a Chennai Port Trust official.
