Indian Railways will be making 100 Vistadome coaches or railcars, which will have see-through window screens, to attract tourists. This is over and above the present set of Vistadome coaches which are running in various places including Nilgiri-Mountain Railway and Kalka Shimla Railway, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced in a conference here.
In a related move, he said all railway stations will be made Wi-Fi, with Tata Trusts bearing the capital expenditure to put the Wi-Fi equipment in over 4,700 stations. While RailTel will bear the cost of providing bandwidth and Railways will bear the cost of providing electricity, said Puneet Chawla, CMD, RailTel Corporation of India. At present, Railways provides WiFi in 832 stations.
