The 2 per cent reduction in excise duty on all capital goods from 12 per cent to 10 per cent is a positive measure, and so is the increase in allocation towards Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme, said A Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters Association.
While hailing such announcements, TEA President has also appealed for release of funds for clearing the duty drawback rate, pending for the last two months. Exporting units will have to meet their financial plan and ease the stress. The release of funds would give a breather to the units, he said.
