Facing heat in the wake of the Shunglu Committee report, the Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dixit, on Friday said the Delhi Government would soon send a “detailed report” to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, in response to findings of the probe panel which blamed her and Lt Governor, Mr Tejinder Khanna, for delays and losses in CWG projects.

“We will send our reply to the Prime Minister on the (Shunglu Committee) report. We are studying it now. We will not hide anything,” Ms Dixit said.

Top Delhi Government officials said that following directions from the Chief Minister, a detailed report was being prepared in response to the Shunglu Committee findings and would be sent to the PMO either on Monday or Tuesday.

3 more reports

Meanwhile, the Shunglu Committee will submit three more reports on alleged irregularities in Commonwealth Games-related projects by March 29.

The reports will highlight several inadequacies on the part of government officials and contractors in executing several works for the sporting extravaganza held here from October 3 to 14 last year.

“We will submit three more reports by March 29. They will be on Commonwealth Games Organising Committee and Games venues related matters,” Mr Shunglu said.

Earlier reports

The Committee has already submitted its reports on host broadcasting deal by Prasar Bharti, construction of Commonwealth Games Village and on City infrastructure related projects to the Prime Minister's Office.

However, Mr Shunglu refused to divulge further details on the probe or the findings submitted by him and said that, “Everything is in the report. They are self-explanatory.”

In its first report submitted on January 31, on alleged irregularities in awarding broadcasting rights during the mega event, the committee recommended strict action against suspended Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharti Mr B.S. Lalli and the former Director General (Doordarshan) Ms Aruna Sharma under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act for their alleged acts of omission and commission.

In its second and third report on Games Village and City Infrastructure, it named Mr Khanna and Ms Dixit.
