Laptops for meritorious students, an engineering college for women and air ambulance facility are among a slew of announcements in the budget for 2011-12 which was presented by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, in the State Assembly on Tuesday.
Amid pandemonium created by the Opposition over a host of issues, Mr Nishank proposed no new taxes in the budget which is revenue surplus of Rs 309.90 crore.
