Evidently alarmed by the escalating pro-Telangana sentiments, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) working for a united Andhra Pradesh has warned against division of the state.
The committee, which met at the Nagarjuna University campus near here on Tuesday night, passed eight resolutions. One of them came down heavily on political parties like BJP and CPI for supporting separate Telangana.
The panel, which consists of representatives from 14 universities in Andhra region, appealed to the Centre not to divide the state.
It warned of an agitation from April 1 if the Central Government failed to give an assurance about keeping Andhra Pradesh united.
