The Road Transport and Highways Ministry will award 982 km of highway stretches, involving a total cost of ₹16,614 crore, before the end of this fiscal. These projects were approved by the Expenditure Finance Committee, headed by the Secretary, Road Transport and Highways, which met on Friday.
The projects were appraised and selected on the basis of land acquisition and clearances obtained. These projects are spread across Rajasthan Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka/Andhra Pradesh Border, Chhattisgarh and Punjab, said sources. Most of the projects have acquired a large portion of the land required.
