Karnataka’s Small Savings have been hit by withdrawals. As per the trends survey conducted by the National Savings Institute (NSI), Bangalore, savings in the last three years has come down. The gross deposits have fallen to ₹6,821 crore (up to February) in 2013-14 from ₹7,702 crore in 2011-12. According to Dasari, Regional Director, NSI, Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana is training educated unemployed women as agents. There are about 16,166 agents working in the State.
