Close on the heels of the HP global CEO, Mr Leo Apotheker, declaring that a big thrust would be given to cloud computing, the company has launched a slew of services to be delivered on the cloud.
These offerings promise to catalyse “innovation” in enterprises by providing solutions that will free them from mundane everyday issues.
“About 70 per cent of IT budgets today is spent on maintenance and running the system and only 30 per cent used for innovation. This would reverse in the next decade and we hope our cloud services will drive that change. Innovation is what separates market makers from market followers,” said Mr Marshal F. Correia, Director – Enterprise Service, India, HP, at the India launch.
Among the various cloud services launched is the ‘Applications Transformation to Cloud Services' that helps enterprises determine which of their applications are cloud-ready and suitable to be put in the cloud. The ‘Enterprise Cloud Services for Microsoft Dynamics CRM' solution is a CRM suite provided via a private cloud. HP also unveiled a portfolio management software and an automation tool.
The HP team in India has played a “large part in the global delivery of these solutions,” said the company.
