e-District project outlay approved

Meanwhile, the outlay for the much awaited national rollout of e-District Mission Mode Project (MMP) was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today.

The MMP aims to bring citizen-centric services closer to the common man through e-delivery at the district and sub-district level.

The estimated project cost for this is Rs 1,663.08 crore, out of which the Central Government's share is estimated at Rs 1,233.08 crore and States' share Rs 430 crore.

Spread over four years, the project will be implemented in all 640 districts (including the 41 districts where e-District Pilot Projects have been initiated).

An empowered committee will coordinate the implementation of this project in which offices and sub-offices of district administration will get modernised and Government processes automated.
