Media and entertainment company STAR TV has contracted Prime Focus Technologies to deploy a multi-platform content operations infrastructure for managing its digital workflow. This will allow STAR TV to drive operational efficiencies within its organisation, control its content and monetise new multi-platform delivery models, according to a press statement. STAR TV will shortly be launching high definition (HD) versions of its key channels in the Indian market. Prime Focus has designed the content operations infrastructure to handle acquisition, QC, transcoding and delivery of HD files with Dolby E audio, the statement said. “With this initiative, STAR TV is opening the door to digital workflows, allowing us to more effectively scale our business, embrace the migration to HD and increase our focus on non-linear platforms,” Mr Sanjay Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Prime Focus Tech, said. Financial details of the engagement were not disclosed.
