In an initiative aimed at helping law enforcement agencies to track stolen laptops, Quick Heal Technologies, a leading anti-virus solution provider, has launched a new service called Laptop Tracker in the Kerala market.
The technology marks the beginning of a unique synergy between corporate entities and law enforcement agencies, the company Vice-President, Corporate Communications, Mr M.J. Srikant, told reporters here today.
The company had also held discussions with police authorities about the service, he said.
Stating that this was a corporate social responsibility initiative by the company to help users as well as law enforcement agencies to track stolen laptops across the country, he said: ‘We are keen to get feedback on this emerging technology and the scenario arising there from.’’
The service can help trace a laptop when it is lost or misplaced and help the police and law enforcement agencies in trying to locate the owners when they recover laptops. Besides, it will also help customers to determine whether a laptop had been stolen when buying a second-hand machine.
The new technology has already been launched in Indore, Jaipur, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. PTI UD VS 03231445
