Sees opportunity in cloud services

Softline Group, a Moscow-based software and services company, has ventured into India with a commitment to create 100 new jobs.

The $1-billion company aims to target small and medium businesses, large enterprises and government agencies, said Atul Ahuja, Managing Director of Softline Services India. It will provide solutions around technology consulting, licensing and Software Delivery, cloud and hardware services.

Ahuja was a Director with Citrix Systems before coming onboard Sotline.

“We started operations last month. Already, we have already bagged a handful of customers in North India and West India for financial services and technology services businesses respectively,” Ahuja added.

By March-end, the company would have created 50 jobs across Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru. Softline intends to double the size of its India team in the next 18-21 months as it will venture into other metro cities.

“Over the next three years, we will replicate all our successful business in the areas of cloud, mobility, productivity and business intelligence in India,” said Ahuja.

Softline, which has over 65 offices in 23 countries, is one of Microsoft’s top globally managed partners. The company has reported a compounded annual growth rate of about 40 per cent in the last five years. Ahuja attributes this to its increasing play in the infrastructure and cloud-related services market globally.

In India, Softline sees a big opportunity in optimising clients IT infrastructure with private, public and hybrid “cloud”. “We have a sizable number of consultants who can come in, configure cloud services in 4 hours and walk out of the project,” added Ahuja.

According to management consulting firm Zinnov, the cloud computing market within India is expected to reach $1.08 billion by 2015,

The company will also use India as a Centre of Excellence for the entire Softline group for services for back-office and cloud-related services.
