Sapience Analytics, a software product company, has raised Rs 45 crore from Orios Venture Partners, a Rs 300-crore technology venture fund.

The company would use the series B investments to grow its customer base by augmenting sales and marketing in the Americas, to reach out to new segments and expand product capabilities, the company said in a statement.

Series B is the second round of financing by private equity firms or venture capitalists.

“When it is so rare to see software products coming out of India, Sapience is a great example of the new breed of innovative and successful Indian product firms. Our investment is aimed at expanding their market reach and ensuring that Sapience Analytics rapidly achieves global prominence,” said Rehan Yar Khan, Managing Partner, Orios Venture Partners.

Sapience Analytics, which was founded in 2009, had previously raised a funding from Indian Angel Network and Seed Enterprises. The company has developed a patent‐pending software product that ensures employees and teams can achieve significant productivity improvement coupled with greater work‐life harmony.

This is the second investment for Orios Venture Partners. Last month, the company invested Rs 15 crore in Ziffi.com, a platform to book appointments with doctors, salons and other health and wellness services.

Started in 2010 by three IITians, Ziffi had earlier raised an angel round of Rs 5 crore from few angel investors, including Vishal Gondal.
