Schogini Systems based in Technopark here has roped in FIDE-ranked chess player Mohammed Salih as its ‘brand ambassador - intelligent interfaces’.

Schogini is a mobile application developer company and wants to take ‘its intelligent games to the masses.’

Mr Salih challenged Laser Game Khet’s inventor Luke Hooper in a game at the Schogini office at Leela Infopark in the Technopark campus here.

For Schogini, this is part of strategy to wean away the teens and young people ‘who are reading less and wasting time in front of a computer or on mobile phones.’

The Laser Game: Khet 2.0 was a Toy of the Year finalist, Mensa Select award winner and was featured in Wired magazine late last year.

Schogini created the mobile version of Khet for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone.

Mr N. Sree Prakash, Managing Director, Schogini, says that with smart phones being more popular these days, it is no longer about making or receiving calls or SMS. Instead of blaming technology for youngsters staying glued to their mobile phones or laptops, we should tap their potential to bring them back from pitfalls of technology.

“Many youngsters are suffering from anxiety and attention disorders. So why not lure them back through brain-engaging strategy games rather than war strategy games.”

Schogini has also partnered with Don Dailey, Larry Kaufman and Luke Hooper to implement Komodo 4, another top-rated chess engine.
