The Union Communications and IT Minister, Mr Kapil Sibal, on Thursday had a roundtable discussion with hi-tech industry leaders on the proposed national policy on electronics.
Sources said the meeting was attended by companies such as HCL, ITI, Nokia, Samsung and Tejas, among others.
Representatives from industry associations were also present. The policy entails aspects like creation of a National Electronic Mission, a modified package for electronics manufacturing and fabrications and a research and development fund.
