Taking the marketing concept of retailer-telecom partnership in India further, Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTL) today announced the launch of T24, the mobile telephony services on the GSM platform, in Gujarat, making it the sixth State in India to be approached by the joint venture of TTL and Future Group formed in February 2010.
The joint venture, which had earlier launched the T24 services in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, plans to complete the rollout across India in the next few months through Future Group's retail networks in over 76 cities and 65 rural destinations, an official said.
Tariff plans
T24 tariff plans will reflect the competitive per-second rates being offered for pre-paid customers on the TL network, Mr Mayur Toshniwal, CEO of T24, told reporters after the launch here.
In addition, customers will be rewarded with free talk-time for every purchase above Rs 351 made at any of the Future Group shopping outlets.
For instance, a T24 customer buying products worth Rs 3,001 at Pantaloons or Brand Factory will stand to gain Rs 150 worth of free talk-time while the one spending Rs 2,001 in Big Bazaar will gain Rs 84 worth of free talk-time for every purchase.
