Vakrangee Software has bagged a Union Bank of India project for enrolling residents for Unique Identification number (UID). The bank was awarded the project through a tendering process, the company said in a press release. The bank is the registrar for UID. Vakrangee will work in the capacity of enrolment agency for the bank in nine zones - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune – covering 18 regions. The software company plans to deploy about 10,000 enrolment kits for the UID project and targets to cover about 30 per cent of resident Indians. “We have already placed bids with other registrars for UID and target to achieve revenue of Rs 1,500 crore from the enrolment project,” said the company.
