“Technology isn't just a male preserve. Women are just as fascinated by new technologies as men. It's only that women use Internet devices differently, don't spend their time online in the same way as men” notes a Kaspersky Lab study.

Women, according to the Lab findings, are more active in social network, send more messages (than men) from their mobile devices and are gung-ho about making purchases online. Men, on the other hand, tend to spend more on technological toys. The male average stood at $728/year against annual spends of $667 by women.

Technology seems to have fascinated both men and women alike. Just because women do not spend much on tech- nological toys or their time online in the same way as men do, it should not be construed as “women aren't interested in technology”.

Stating thus, experts at Kaspersky Lab listed five security tips for women, to make their Net experience secure. The tips are not new, some precautions that the Net user should take, lest he/she fall a prey to criminals in the cyber space.

The safety tips include installing security software in the PC and all other devices, sharing personal information sparingly on social networks, being alert with bargains as there are always great bargains in the Net and cyber criminals make the most of these offers by attempting to trick users with bargains and use of a complex password.
