Mumbai-based global learning solutions company Aptech plans to expand its assessment and testing solutions overseas. The company is in talks with government agencies in Vietnam to implement the same.

It plans to implement assessment tools for government-run recruitment exams initially in Vietnam. Language is a major challenge and the company is working with the people there to create the platform, according to a company official.

Enterprises segment, which includes corporate training and assessment and testing solutions, accounts for 20 per cent of its total revenue. Its turnover was ₹213 crore for the fiscal ended March 2017.

According to the official, the enterprises segment’s growth is driven by State governments and the Centre that are focussing on digitising recruitment exams. Aptech is working with a few State governments to conduc recruitment exams and will scale up its operations, according to Shrutidhar Paliwal, Vice-President, Corporate Communication and Media Relations.

The company has 863 centres in India and 1,300 centres across 43 countries across Africa, West Asia, South America, Russia and South East Asia through a franchisee model. It is in discussion with potential partners to establish Aptech computer education centres in the US.

Aptech will launch more Montana International Preschool it launched a year ago. There are 61 pre-schools in operation and it wants to take it to 200 by 2019.

Aptech’s retail business, which includes animation, IT, English learning, hardware and network academy and aviation and hospitality services, is growing as well with animation driving the demand. There are 75,000 students learning at Aptech at any point in time and close to 40,000 are studying animation courses under the brand Arena and Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics.

It is also major revenue generator for the company followed by beauty and wellness courses it runs in partnership with Lakme salon. Other sectors that are seeing traction are aviation and courses for organised retail segment.
