Corporate360 (C360), a Kerala-based startup, has invested $1 million to set up a new data development centre in rural Pathanapuram in Kollam district.

Corporate360 offers SaaS (software-as-a-service)-based marketing data cloud software for B2B marketers to help discover sales leads and competitive intelligence.

DATA RESEARCH HUB

With 40 executives in five countries, the company is a fast growing start-up with over 300 global customers.

The Pathanapuram centre will serve as the company’s regional data research hub to serve global clients.

Bounded by the Main Central Road and the National Highway 47, the new office has a seating capacity of 150 people. It is located in central Kerala, within a couple of hours from the Thiruvananthapuram and Cochin international airports and is in close proximity to the scenic Alappuzha backwaters.

START-UP JOURNEY

C360 began its start-up journey three years ago with a five-member team in Pathanapuram. It started operations in a restored tourist home facility.

The company has since created over 100 digital jobs in rural Kerala and has opened the state’s first rural IT park wholly owned by a startup. It plans to make more recruitments over a period of time.

"As we see a continuation of growth in our large western markets, our focus is to expand coverage in the Asia-Pacific and become a market leader," said Sajeev Pushpamangalam, Vice-President and Head of Businesses.

By opening offices in the tier-2 town, the company is promoting ‘impact sourcing’ that results in meaningful job creation and digital skill development among educated youth in rural areas.

TALENT DRAIN

Graduates from rural areas no more need to move to the big cities for work or internship. The drain of educated talent from rural areas is also limited.

According to Sajeev, there is an opportunity to leverage the digital economy on a permanent basis to create employment and improve the confidence levels and digital skills of young people from smaller towns.

C360 is setting a trend in Kerala by seeking to expand offices to tier-2 towns, he added.
