Personal computing devices company HP has launched Spectre, claimed to be the thinnest laptop, as thin as an ‘AAA’ battery. Priced at $1,249, the 1.11 kg laptop comes with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors against mobile processors often used in this class of device.

“We use a hybrid battery split into two thinner pieces, giving a battery life of nine-and-half hours,” Anneliese Olson, General Manager and Vice-President (Personal Systems Business, Asia-Pacific and Japan, HP, said.

‘One Life’ device Presenting a line-up of five laptops and a phone here on Thursday, she said the work and life were converging into ‘One Life’, demanding better performing computing devices that can provide seamless experience as they move on from device to device, while ensuring security to the data.

People are carrying more than devices (phone, laptop, tablets) to take care of office and personal computing needs, causing inconvenience. “Millennials (the young users) want stylish designs with secure features that allow them to collaborate easily,” she said.

The 10.4 mm full HD 13.3-inch device comes with storage up to 512 GB and 8 GB of memory. The other products launched today included EliteBook Folio, Elite x3, EliteBook 1040 G3, EliteBook G3 series and Envy. The 15.6” diagonal HP ENVY laptop is priced at $779.

3 gadgets in one Anneliese Olson said has bundled phablet, laptop and desktop into one single device in terms of performance. “From a single computing device allows the users to seamlessly run key productivity.”

The company bets big on this device, saying it has potential to change the way companies work. It is partnering with Salesforce to add its Salesforce1 on the device.

The device comes with a Snapdragon 820 processor, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Continum; and an optional HP Desk Dock and Lap Dock.

The docks, when connected with the device, offer a desktop and laptop experience.
