In a bid to tap the $100-billion data analytics and Artificial Intelligence market globally, home grown company Cross-Tab Group is restructuring and merging its existing businesses into a single entity to be called Course5.
Cross Tab Group currently has three major subsidiaries—Blueocean Market Intelligence and Cross-Tab, which are into AI, research and data analytics, and Borderless Access, a company that is into research panel services including data collection. While Blueocean and Cross-Tab will be merged as Course5, the third company will be demerged to form a separate company. The ₹500-crore Cross-Tab’s major market is the US, followed by Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
Talking to BusinessLine on the restructuring, Ashwin Mittal, CEO, Course5, said: “The opportunities ahead of us are massive as the business world is drowning in oceans of data, information and technology. Through smart solutions and our proprietary AI technology we are bringing in a new paradigm of decision making to assist our clients in preparing for a new digital future.”
Mittal said that Course5 will be all about data management, predictive analytics, marketing insights,digital transaformation, AI and deep learning and would help companies in their next wave of digital transformation where companies are making huge investments to stay ahead of the curve.
Key clients
According to a 2017 report by IDC (International Data Corporation), the worldwide spending on digital transformation (DX) technologies in 2017 was at $1.2 trillion, up 17.8% over 2016 and that IDC forecasts the spend to reach $2 trillion by 2020.
Course5, which counts Microsoft, Colgate-Palmolive, Lenovo among its 45 key clients, with its new entity will drive digital transformation for business organisations through analytics, insights, and AI. It will also launch advanced suite of solutions for faster insights so that the businesses can make fast and better decisions.
Course5 Discovery
One of the product the company would be launching is Course5 Discovery that empowers decision makers to get answers and insights instantly through a personalised voice and chat assistant, powered by Natural Language Processing, available on their smartphones and tablets.
Mittal added that the company will be hiring around 400 data, digital, AI scientists along with statisticians and research professionals this year.
