Pegasystems Inc., an IT platform solutions provider, has bagged an order from the Andhra Pradesh government to provide a technology backbone for the latter’s e-governance initiative, e-Pragati. The portal seeks to integrate all the government departments and 315 agencies. As it would connect 33 government departments, e-Pragati would offer access to 745 citizen services.
The Andhra Pradesh government has selected Pega’s Government Platform, which comes with Digital Process Automation (DPA) technology, to help build integrated digital services on a powerful, unified platform. “The government has evaluated four vendors over a period three months and picked our no-code application development environment. It can rapidly develop and deploy new applications and make real-time changes through its flexible architecture,” Suman Reddy, Managing Director of Pegasystems India, said.
This project marks the first client win for Pega’s new sales support office in Mumbai, which opened in December 2017. Pega India, which has 1,500 employees in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, focuses on engineering and product development activities.
