The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad) has announced an accelerator programme for social start-ups. The institute has joined hands with Surge Impact Foundation to run the three-month-long accelerator.
At the end of the programme, start-ups could get seed funding opportunities between Rs 50,000-Rs 1 lakh.
The social start-ups would get an opportunity to work with research scholars and professors to solve problems that they encounter as they build their products and services.
“The programme will give entrepreneurs an overview of the important aspects of building and running a social enterprise. The start-ups will be guided through leadership, business management, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and technology implementation for social good,” IIIT-H has said in a statement.
The programme is open to tech-based Indian start-ups that have been working on their enterprises for less than a year on social or environmental challenges in the country but which will find application anywhere in the world.
