Chip maker Intel has brought Innovate for Digital India Challenge to Hyderabad, asking young techies to come out with ideas that can address local needs. IIM Ahmedabad’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship is going to execute the all-India challenge.

“We will vet all the applications we receive till January 2016 and select about 50 ideas for the acceleration programme. The hand-picked techies will undergo 12-week residential mentorship. Of this, 20 will be picked for the finals,” Intel Vice-President (Sales and Marketing Group), and Managing Director (South Asia) Debjani Ghosh said.

Announcing the details of the challenge here on Tuesday, she said the finalists would pitch their ideas to a group of experts. “We will pick the final three to give them access to seed fund of Rs 20 lakh each,” she said.

The firm has announced a total grant worth Rs 1.5 crore.
