Lumeris Inc., an IT solutions provider focussed on healthcare, intends to beef up its India presence. At present the US-based company’s development centre in Hyderabad employs 110 people.

“Our plans are to recruit 2,000-3,000 globally in the next three years. A good number of these will be in India", said W. Michael Long, Chairman and CEO of Lumeris and Essence Group Holdings Corporation.

He told newspersons that the Indian IT professionals at the Hyderabad centre have contributed immensely in developing the cloud-based technology that is helping in the comprehensive healthcare reforms in US.

“Our developers here have come up with key products and services and their work has transformed our Accountable Delivery System Platform (ADSP).’’ The platform improves collaboration and tracking between health plans, hospitals, physicians and patients.

With the new platform, healthcare providers and consumers will be more accountable for both clinical and economic outcome of their decisions. It requires information at the point of care which was hitherto unavailable. ADSP is designed to provide this information, he said.

Healthcare is witnessing a digital revolution and is being driven by breakthroughs in digital communications and data management and Lumeris is in the forefront, said Michael Long.

Long was previously CEO of Continuum, a multibillion-dollar global leader in insurance software, and later CEO & Chairman of Healtheon/WebMD, the largest consumer health information and transaction clearinghouse.

“Our purpose is to arrest the exploding healthcare costs while simultaneously improving clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction, he added.

Lumeris’, a subsidiary of the Essence Group, is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, US.
