Maintenance services start-up Gapoon Online Consumer Services aims to on-board 125 restaurants by the end of financial year 2018. "Currently we have 75 restaurants using our services and plan to increase that number to 125," Apoorva Mishra, CEO, Gapoon said.
Gapoon was founded in 2015 by IIT graduates Ankita Asai, Ankit Bindal, Nikhil Gupta, along with Mishra with the aim of providing housekeeping and maintenance services, similar to the likes of Housejoy and others. Gapoon offers these services on a subscription basis, ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 16 lakh annually to restaurants and property management aggregators.
"Our focus is on B2B clients and 55 per cent of our revenues comes from subscription," said Asai. Recently, Gapoon raised $250,000 in a pre-series A round funding led by Vida Ventures and other investors, including Snehal Mantri.
Mishra said the funds were being used for investments in product and technology. Services such as Gapoon are needed as restaurants have to follow FSSAI guidelines, which mandate external entities to carry out services such as pest control on a regular basis.
