Microsoft Devices hopes to tap the keen interest for apps among the Indian mobile phone users to position its products.
At the launch of a range of Lumia cell phones, TS Sridhar, Director-South, Nokia India Sales Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobiles Oy, said the company is launching the Lumia 730, Lumia 830 and the Lumia 930 with a range of consumer offers in a tie-up with online retailers such as Snapdeal, Myntra and Flipkart.
Wide rangeThe Lumia series has something to offer for various segments including entry level, affordable and high-end smartphone with prices beginning from about ₹15,300 to over ₹38,650. The sweet spot for devices is in the price range of ₹4,000 - 12,000 which is the most active segment.
Pranav Shroff, Product Marketing Manager, Nokia India Sales, said the series supports the users better use their time with a range of features that enhance information flow.
Risha Magu, Communications Manager, Nokia India, said as a feature in a cell phone, the Indian market is unique in the sense that apps are top selling points, even higher than camera capability.
