Samsung today launched a new smartphone Z1 in India running on a different operating system (OS) – Tizen – marking a shift from the popular Android system.
Asim Warsi, Vice-President, Mobile marketing and Retail, said that the new operating system, which is used in Samsung's range of wearable gears, cameras and smart TVs, is a lighter OS that will make the phone's performance smoother.
The company claims its 1500mAh battery would allow eight hours of non-stop talktime.
Priced at just ₹5,700, the new phone will be available from January 14.
