Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Noida and Greater Noida can be the “new” Singapore, adding that the Centre can help develop the “new city” as a manufacturing hub for electronics and electronic items. The Minister said more and more companies were interested in being part of the ‘Make in India’ programme and want to be part of manufacturing hubs in places such as Noida.
He said around ₹90,000 crore worth of mobile handsets were manufactured in India in the previous financial year..
