Schmersal India, a subsidiary of Germany's Schmersal Group, has launched its first global IT support centre in Pune. The centre is spread across 3,305 sq ft, with a workforce of 15 functional and technical consultants.
“This is the first global support activity that has been established outside Germany, and India has been recognised as one of the competence centres with skilled resources to provide support for SAP implementation and software development to the entire Schmersal Group. This activity has also led to increased employment opportunities for Indians,” said Michael Ambros, Managing Director of K.A. Schmersal GmbH. Schmersal India is a manufacturer of electro mechanical safety, lift switchgear and systems.
With the motto, ‘turning workplaces into safer places’ Schmersal India started operations in 2007 as a sales organisation to participate in the growing India market for machine safety.
