Sistema Shyam on Tuesday said that 25 per cent of its revenues are coming from non-voice telecom services.
Non-voice revenues from both data and mobile VAS for the quarter were up by 33 per cent Q-o-Q to Rs 58.8 crore. The same has increased by 2 percentage points during the quarter. Most of the other mobile operators get about 15 per cent of their revenues from non-voice services.
Sistema Shyam, which offers mobile services under the MTS brand, declared a total revenue of Rs 236 crore during the first quarter, 22 per cent higher than the previous quarter.
During the quarter (Q1 2011), total wireless (voice and data) subscriber base was up by 19 per cent to 10.05 million. Blended mobile ARPU (average revenue per user) for the quarter remained consistent at Rs 82.
At the end of Q1 2011, SSTL expanded its mobile data services to 130 cities in India, including all five metros. The number of data subscribers increased by 36 per cent over Q4 2010 to 580,000.
